I’ve been constipated for 17 days now, help please!?
I have been constipated for 17 days now without making a bowel movement. When, if ever do I seek medical treatment? And, by whom? I’m guessing that my constipation is due to the use of pain killers for another problem and stress, but laxatives, fiber, and stool softeners do not work.
I am starting to feel and look very bloated. Also, I am having pain in my pelvic region at times. It is not constant. And, I am having a probelm with urinating that I don’t know if it’s related or not. It takes me a few minutes to pee when I fee like I could pee quickly and all day. I keep running to the restroom and nothing happens whether bowel or unirary.
I’m 27, male, healthy, eats relatively well, etc.
What should I do? I can use anyone’s and everyone’s advice.
Many thanks.

First go to Walmart and but some Epsom’s Salts and the premixed ememas called Fleet. Then go home and put 2 heaping tablespoons of Epsom’s Salts in 1/2 glass or so of water (just tap, not really cold water) and drink it, (it tastes terrible but works good) then fix a HOT cup of tea or coffee and drink it, then go to the bathroom and give yourself an enema that you bought. And in about 1/2 hour or less you should be in the bathroom for a while. After your bowels start working use Metamucil everyday and you may need a stool softener. If you don’t go to the bathroom in an hour go to the hospital but I think you will spend the day in the bathroom. Epsom’s Salts has magnesium in them and magnesium makes your bowels move.
idk dude, but when it does come out its guna be one painful ass shit!
I think that if it has been 17 days, and you have tried fiber and laxatives, then you should go to the doctor immediately. It could be nothing and the doctor may prescribe something that is stronger than your OTC laxatives, however it could be very serious, like a twisted bowel or something. Hopefully, it is nothing to severe, but I would recommend getting to the doctor asap. Hope all goes well!
You need to go see your doctor, right away. Not going for that long is very bad for you. The toxins from all that backed-up stool begin to enter your system as a whole, which is extremely dangerous.
If you don’t have a regular health provider or you can’t get in to see your doctor soon, go to the hospital. I promise you, they’ve seen this problem before. They will give you some very heavy-duty laxatives, and if those don’t work, there are manual methods they can use. (You won’t enjoy those, so hope that the laxatives work.)
Urinary hesitancy is also a possible side-effect of regular opioid use, so I’m guessing that problem is due to the pain-killers directly and not to your constipation, but you should ask the doctor, just to be sure.
When you’ve got the problem sorted out, ask your doctor about a regular regimen you can go on that will prevent this from happening in the future. The usual high fiber diets and such are rarely sufficient when you’re taking pain killers on a daily basis.
Dude, dont wait any longer.you need to go to the doctor right away. this is not normal.
If you have tried over the counter solutions and they do not work you need to go to the Dr…..NOW. 17 days is entirely too long, and if your stool cant come out the bottom way….you will end up vomiting up stool. Your body knows 2 ways to get rid of toxins, and if you dont do something soon it will be coming out of your mouth.
