Help!!! 6 year old daughter has multiple symptoms within past 6 weeks, and no diagnosis…PLEASE READ!!!?
I will try to make this short. My daughter started off 6 weeks ago with a sore throat. After two negative strep tests, they started antibiotics, figuring that she has a sinus infection due to the amount of post nasal drainage. The first antibiotic didn’t work, so they put her on a stronger one….but it still didn’t help. She started complaining of shortness of breath, so she was prescribed Proventil (an albuterol inhaler). Still no improvement. She was still constantly complaining of a severe sore throat.
After about three weeks, they tested her for allergies. She had mild allergies to milk, peanuts, cats, mold, ragweed and cottonwood trees. These are mild allergies, and we have eliminated peanuts and dairy from her diet, but still no better. She then started taking Benadryl, Alavert and NasaCort. No help.
She then developed urinary urgency. She is constantly feeling that she has to use the restroom, but can’t. On an average day at school, her teacher reported that she used the restroom approx. 25 times. Thinking that the post nasal drip may be causing her to be dehydrated, I started really pushing fluids. She had her urine tested for any infection, but it was negative.
The past couple of days, she has started having periodic nausea, constipation and fairly severe stomach pain. I am so frustrated right now, I don’t know what to do.
She has appts. on Monday with a urologist and an allergist, but with the new symptom, I’m starting to think that we may be "barking up the wrong tree".
Any advice???

What kind of diagnosis can you come up with?
A 63 year old Asian woman
5′3" 195 lbs
Smoking from age 40-60 yrs, quit. age 61.
Alcoholic from age 50-60 yrs, quit age 60.
6 miscarriages/abortions, 5 children alive, 2 deceased.
last child born at age 49, smoked during term.
Works about 45-48 hours a week for almost 15 years of her life
husband died from a stroke @ age 78 in 1998.
She has constant back aches and muscle aches
Colon problems, constant constipation every morning.
Her vision is blurred
She can’t hold things with her hands very long,
Her ankles are very weak
She gets migrants very often
She has a high cholesterol,
and I’ve seen some kind of lymph nodes or so lower to her left arm pit
She refuses to see a doctor, fear of getting cut up or privately examined
I suppose she might have arthritis and cancer of multiple organs.
What would you say ?

Is this IBS? I disagree with the diagnosis.?
I have GI problems every single day and a day never goes by where I don’t feel well. There are times when I get VERY sick and stay home for weeks at a time - but I am never 100% and always feel terrible. It doesn’t come and go..but it does get worser at times.
I usually feel worse after I go to the bathroom. I have had a lot of tests done - colonscopy, endoscopy, small bowel follow through, ultrasound, celiac test and other blood tests. My symptoms include constipation, but when I do go it’s narrow and sorta formed. (I take Metamucil which has helped a bit, but not that much). I am very sensitive to heat because of this and when I eat warm food my whole body feels warm. I also feel this mild nausea, especially in my eyes and I tear. I also have pressure headaches where it feels like blood is rushing to my head. I have also noticed my legs and arms fall asleep somewhat frequently.
The doctors don’t think it’s IBS but said there’s nothing else it can be - they say severe IBS.
I have also gone off wheat and dairy for long periods of time (> 6 months) and had my allergies tested. I tried naturopathy as well.
And I’ve had this for about 5 or 6 years now. And a sigmoidoscopy makes no sense! A simoidoscopy only allows for view of the lower part of the colon and colonoscopy views both top and bottom. Don’t try to make people paranoid on this.

Getting a Diverticulitis diagnosis…?
I have had on-going gastric issues for over eight years now (and I’m only 27!). I have been to countless specialists, doctors, clinics, hospitals, etc, and NO ONE has been able to figure out what is wrong. I have been told I have gastritis and eosinophilia, but they can’t really tell me why. The only thing that has ever come back on tests (consistently) is a high eosinophil count (both in the blood and in my stomach tissue). I have bouts where I can’t eat for days to weeks at a time and typically end up in the hospital about once a year. I was just in the hospital for three days last week because I couldn’t keep food down for 10 days!
I’ve been trying to figure this out for myself and stumbled across Diverticulitis. It is the FIRST thing ever that has seemed to fit 100%! Everything from the nausea & pain in the lower gut to the elevated white blood count to the fact that it gets worse at night and even the "feeling hot while having no fever" and the exchange between diarrhea and constipation! I swear, it HAS to be this!
HOWEVER, I have had two or three CT scans in the past few years and no one has ever brought this up. Is it possible that it can be missed?? Is there any other way to diagnose?? I’m DESPERATE for answers……….
I WANT to tell myself they could miss it –especially since they weren’t really looking for it– but I just don’t know if it’s possible. I’m supposed to have a colonoscopy in three weeks, but I’m still having acute symptoms and REALLY don’t want to / CAN’T wait that long. :/

Urinary, endocrine Diagnosis: Disappointment! =(?
I’m 17 years old. I have a few problematic symptoms that have appeared slowly over the past few years/months. They include frequent urination, frequent, uncomfortable hunger, frequent bowel movements(diarrhea more often than constipation) and what looks like exstensive acne and dry skin. Don’t know if they’re all related, but they’ve occured quite suddenly with growing frequency. I had a blood test for Diabetes last year - negative. Another blood test for parathyroid hormone - negative. Now my urologist is focusing on my urinary symptoms and gave me March 9th, VESIcare for a month, didn’t work at all. Yesterday, April 29, gave me Santura to "test out" until end of May. I’m so frustrated since only then will he try a diagnostic round of tests. =(tired of testing drugs I can’t play sports because of these symptoms. a lil help?
I recently found a disease called either hypothyroidism or hyper-thyroidism. could this be it?

Here’s the deal, all I want is a guess from you. I’ve had intense nausea almost everynight, trouble swallowing, constipation, rectal bleeding (I do have hemmoroihoids), admoninal cramping, and fatigue for about 5yrs now. What do you think it could b?
Here’s what I have tested negative for: so It’s NOT any of these things:
Peptic Ulcer
any form of IBD (crohn’s or ulcerative Colitis)
Celiac Disease
Gallbladder probs
Kidney Probs
Liver Probs or any sort of organ probs
Colon Cancer
Stomach Cancer
Polyps etc.
Ive had a colonoscopy a EGD a songram and a bunch of blood work, all came up normal
