I need a Diagnosis that I can come up with 9 interventions. I can’t think of 9 interventions for constipation. Theres no specific meds for constipation which seems to make it the wrong diagnosis. I have seen fluid and nutritional deficits but the patients labs are normal. So a risk for can’t be a primary diagnosis, so where does this leave me? Confused.

I have had constipation problems on and off since the end of July. I am now not so sure that the cause is constipation, as other things that happen are I get twitching throughout my body, worse so at night, I have been getting pain in my bones or muscles and to top it off I havent been getting much sleep as I keep waking up shivering (quite violently at times). I am not looking for a diagnosis off of here, just any suggestions - please do not tell me to go to the doctor as I have already been once early august and was fobbed off and told they were probably swine flu symptoms! (I assume I was told this due to the shivering!). I dont like doctors to begin with so ita going to take me some more time to build up the courage to go again. Incidently when I am shivering it is a physical thins as my ear thermomtre at first registers my temp to about 35.4 and then just flashes low as it doesnt show any lower than that, and I dont have any feelings of suddenly dying etc so I do not think they are panic attacks!

Patient is 72 yrs of age, has had childhood polio for 62 yrs. Her history includes childhood polio, seisures, DM, & constipation. Personnel must use a lift to move her due to loss of use of her extremeties.

I have constipation all the time, stomach aches, can’t seem to handle dairy, wheat, or sugars, "hot flashes" almost (although I am no where close to old enough), extreme fatigue, muscle aches and pains, and I can’t seem to figure out what to eat or what not. I’ve been to many doctors and can’t get a sure diagnosis. Does anyone know what all this could be (who’s a doctor/wholistic) or has similar symtoms and knows what there issues are? And what to do about them?

My 3 year old son was recently diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder and has been chronically constipated since 4 months old. We are about to start SOS Therapy with an OT to help with expanding (his very limited) diet. But my husband is not on board with this - the diagnosis or OT in general. He won’t read any of the books or go on the websites and I’m pulling out my hair with frustration.

Not sure if this is tied up in his ego (his son is a reflection upon him nonsense) or if he’s completely dismissing it due to lack of understanding but I need help before we wind up in divorce court! Thanks!

I recently saw a gasteroenterologist at a highly rated clinic. For the past 13 months I’ve had bad constipation that started very suddenly when I was 21. I eat healthy and exercise regulary, but diet & exercise don’t seem to help at all. Before getting sick, I’d had very healthy bowels my entire life. I recently found out that I have a family history of Hirschprung’s, which seems to fit with the symptoms I have.

When I told the doctor, they agreed that Hirschprung’s is a likely cause. They then scheduled a rectal manometry. If this comes back positive, they will take a biopsy. This procedure is extremely invasive and embarrasing, and if at all possible I would like to avoid it. I read online that an abdominal xray is also a common first diagnosis method. Since they insist on confirming the disease with a biopsy anyway, wouldn’t an abdominal xray work just as well as a first test? It would show a stretched out lower colon, while the rectal manometry would simply show the colon failing to exert force. Either way, the result is pretty much the same…

I’m starting to think the rectal manometry was ordered only because that’s the test they arbitrarily prefer. If that’s the case, then I’ll go elsewhere for an xray diagnosis.

I’d really appreciate feedback on this. I realize this isn’t a second opinion, but I would really like to get some persepctive on this.

I woke on Sunday morning feeling sick and with stomach pains these gradually got worse throughout the day until about 11pm when i was bent double in pain. I managed through the night and got an emergency appointment at the doctors for Monday where they diagnosed me as having a virus and advised to have a few days off work…
my symptoms then were:
Stomach pain
Sickness/nausea
Frequent urination
Bloating of the stomach
Feeling sick whilst eating/after eating

The doctor advised if it hadn’t gone by a few days to go back, i am making an appointment to go back tomorrow but my symptoms have changed slightly,
Now are:
Constipation
Sickness/nausea
Bloating
Loss of appetite
Feeling sick whilst eating/after eating food
Tiredness

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same thing? I dont know what could be wrong..
Oh and yea im on the contraceptive pill so the chances of being pregnant are slim?

I need help. I have severe constipation an very severe nausea. I am moving back to my home state and it is gonna take 3 days. I need to get rid of my constipation and nausea fast!! I cant have these symptoms when i am in the car for three days. It isnt an option. So please i need a diagnosis or a way to get rid of my symptoms.ANy help to get rid of either one will be greatly appreciated, but i would like help for both of them.

The nausea is so severe i cant even move somtimes that is how bad it is.

The constipation is also as severe.

I have been diagnoised with ibs and ptsd.
I have no food allergies(i have been tested).

I live in Florida. I don’t have health insurance and I am a college student with 2 part time jobs so not a lot of money.

I think I need to see a doctor since I have been having unbearable pain in my right side just below my rib cage for 4 days now. I thought it was gas/constipation however I have done many things (prunes, prune juice, gas-x, milk of magnesia, etc.) over the last 3 days for this diagnosis but the pain hasn’t gone away.

I was thinking about going to the Health Department (I heard they charge based off of income) but I am affraid they won’t have all the technology (x-ray,etc) they may need. Should I go to the emergency room or a urgent care center. I know some emergency rooms have programs for low income as well but what about urgent care places.

Please help any information will be greatly appreciated.
Well I gave up and went to the ER - at first they thought it was a gall bladder problem but it turns out I have kidney stones and a cyst on my right kidney.

3 months ago I had my appendix out. I was taken to emergency room with pretty bad lower abdominal cramps and suspected appendicitis. I was operated on straight away, and found not to have appendicitis.
I had a bag of infectous fluid around my appendix.

3 months on I am still getting the cramps, just as painful although I have learn’t to deal with pain.

I have 5 stools with blood in past 2 months and nearly all my stools have yellow mucus

Abdominal cramps also on lower left side as well as right

My doctor has diagnosed me with fecal loading, a form of constipation. The thing is, I really dont think I am constpated. I go to the toilet regulary, and I dont strain to do so.
I really think this is the wrong diagnosis.

What do you think it might be?? I have ideas - crohns/UC/ food intoloerence/ another sack of fluid??
