Newborn constipation and diarrhea?

My baby was just born early last sunday morning. I started out breast feeding him but he wasn’t latching on well and I was in some pain so I switched to bottle feeding when he was 3 days old. We use Similac with iron. He had normal poops up til yesterday when he was constipated. Today he has had diarrhea. He isn’t running a fever and we didn’t switch formulas, we have always used similac if he wasn’t being breast fed. The pediatric office isn’t open until Monday, is there anything I can do at home to treat him?

Giving a newborn water??

My son will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. About two weeks ago he was having constipation problems and gas problems. I didn’t like my pediatrician and I am in the middle of getting a new one. I heard that If you give your baby water and water down the bottles a little bit it will help him. It did it and it helped the constipation. Now I’m reading online that don’t give any baby water till they are at least 3 months old and do not water down the bottles because it can cause water poisoning. I am wondering if this is even true. Did your pediatrician ever say to give your newborn baby water for gas or constipation and water down he bottles a little bit? Cause I actually heard it from my friend and she said that her pediatrician told her that. Now, I’m really worried. Do I need to bring him to the hospital? Do you think he has water poisoning? Also, should I boil the water before i mix the water with the formula before i give it to him???? I need as much advice to this question as I can get because I’m really worried.. HELP!

Dad Needs Help Again - Newborn in pain constipation from soy milk?

Ok, our newborn is about 5 weeks. He was on breastfeeding, but mom had to stop after about 2 weeks. Then he was on the nestle regular milk, and he had diarhea like crazy, like 20 times a day. So the doctor told us to try nestle soy, and soy was working fine for about a week, up until about 2 days ago. He has been crying non stop and is constipated. What should we do? How can we first, fix the constipation while still feeding him, and then what should we try switcing him to. We want our baby just to go normal and be happy.

Starting baby on solids, constipation?

I had my baby on the hungrier baby milk and his poo was getting a little harder, but he was still going twice a day, which was more than usual, it wasn’t bothering him either, so i assumed it was all ok.

Now i’ve started to give him solids his poo is like rock hard and only doing a few "marbles" in the morning and a few at night, if that. He’s getting a little bit of baby rice in the morning and a little bit of rusks at night, not much though, about 3 baby spoons of each mixed in with his milk (baby spoons as in the weaning spoons you buy).

What can i do about the constipation? Will it go away itself? Should i give him some cooled boiled water, i was told to this when he was a newborn and very constipated. Will he be getting more dehydrated now i’ve introduced the first foods?

He’s on 9ozs of hungry baby milk (was taking this every 2hours) and since introducing baby rice and rusks he’s been taking the 9oz every 4 hours and only taking 5/6oz in the morning and at night when i’ve been giving him the rice or rusks, which i think is a great improvement so he won’t be feeling as full and bloated as before.
It’s nothing to do with you how old he is etc, i was actually advised by my doctor to start him on baby rice as he was taking 9ozs of hungrier baby every 2hours, he’s 3 months next week, which was the age that babies got fed solids at until they said that they will develop all those allergies which haven’t been proven to be related to feeding early. I don’t know why i’m explaining myself, i’m asking a question, not asking if you think my child is too young.
He is eating from a spoon, i feed him the rice/rusks and then give him the rest of his bottle. He takes it very well from the spoon, doesn’t spit it out, he swallows it, which is an indicator that the baby is ready for food. Yeah he was taking that amount, if your a mother, you’ll know the difference between hunger and other things like, boredum, the need to suck etc etc. He doesn’t have reflux.

Incase you didn’t notice i’m actually asking a question about constipation and solids, how to relieve it and if it’s normal, i’m not asking if it’s right that i should be giving my baby solids at 3 months. Yeah i’m asking advice on that, nothing about his age etc.
and i replied that i dont give a f*ck what you think, i’m giving him baby rice because i was recommended too, actually it might be said that 6 months is the time to give them solids, but why on the baby food jars etc does it say 4 months plus???? You never said stop giving that poor baby food, you were just being a nosey judgemental cow, i’m asking if it’s normal that they should get constipated, you answered with something completely irrelevant.
Forgot to add, he sleeps through the night, so doesnt’ feed through the night but feeds every 2hours during the day and screams for more after he’s drained the bottle.

I asked a similar question before i asked my doctor and EVERYONE said that i should do it if i want too, and most of them had the same experience, all their babies are fine.

All the websites i’ve looked at have stated this, my baby is doing all of this. He might not be able to sit up alone, but he can sit up for a few minutes and he can turn his head, lift it up, sit up with someone holding him and his head doesn’t flop for at least 5/8minutes

How do i get rid of my newborns constipation?

My baby is one week old and hasn’t had a bowel movement since last night. His poo last night was really solid. Tonight he is straining and crying. I’m convinced he is constipated because of how he is pushing his legs towards his stomach. He looks like he is in pain. I’ve called the hospital and they said to give him water, but he is rejecting it. What can I do to help alleviate him? I am a first time mother and all I can do is cry because my baby is hurting. Please help!!!!
I just changed his diaper and it had one solid piece of poo in it. I pressed down on it, it was pretty hard. He is constipated but i think the massaging of his stomach helped push out that one little piece of poo. I am not breastfeeding because i’m recovering from a C section, it was too painful. I tried for the first few days at the hospital but opted to bottlefeed instead.
Two hours and he is still crying. I’ve tried feeding him again to see if he was hungry…nothing. I’ve changed him three times only to have one solid piece of poo come out. His abdomen is really tight when he flinches. I keep rubbing his belly in hopes of making it come out but it’s not helping. I tried rubbing a warm towel on his belly and nothing.

Can someone tell me how to relieve my baby’s gas and constipation?

My 1 week old just started spitting up all of her formula after I feed her but only in the mornings. Also, she has been having trouble pooping for 3 days. I had to insert the thermometer into her anus to make her poop, and she did…3 times…one right after the other. She cries every now and then and gets a painful look on her face. She pulls her legs up and it looks like she is trying to poop, but can’t. Could it be the formula I am feeding her or is this normal with newborns?

Can a breastfeeding mom take honey bee?

according to many rumors (because I cannot get any source) in China that honeybee cannot be taken by breastfeeding mothers, saying that it causes sugar goes high in the blood, and finally has a bad impact to the newborn baby?

Is this true? Any professional comments or any sources about this?

The baby’s mother have somewhat serious constipation, honeybee should contribute to resolve this problem, but not sure about it.
